Easter EGGstravaganza

Easter EGGstravaganza was held on April 4, 2009 and was sponsored by the Roseau Women of Today, Roseau Civic & Commerce and the Merchants on Main.  Many of the local businesses filled over 2000 eggs with things like money, stickers, coupons, candy, toys and band aids.  There were
four different age groups and the children scrambled to find the eggs.

The Easter Bunny made an appearance and also helped pass out some eggs to the children.  There were approximately 150 children who attended this event.

super santa saturday

Super Santa Saturday was a success again this year. We had a really good turn out and lots of fun activities for the kids to do.

Santa arrived on the fire truck and there were a lot of kids waiting to catch a glimpse of him. Santa sat by the fireplace in the library while the children were able to visit with him and get a quick photo. In the other room there were some fun crafts, a free lunch and lots of door prizes for the children.

In the afternoon there was a free movie at the Roso Theater with a donation to the Roseau Food Shelf. Santa also visited the movie theater briefly before they played the Muppet Christmas Carol.

The event was sponsored by the Roseau Women of Today, Roseau Civic and Commerce, Roseau ECFE and the Roso Theater. Thank you to all those who helped make this event a huge success.

roseau kids' carnival

Thursday, August 21st from 1pm to 7pm.

Thanks to a great turnout of members helping out, the Roseau Kids' Carnival (sponsored by RWOT along with Doug's Supermarket) was a great success!  We were set up in the Doug's Supermarket parking lot in Roseau and had inflatable games, along with some of our kiddie games for the children to play. We also had available hotdogs, pop and root beer floats.

This event was sponsored by Doug's Supermarket with the Roseau Women of Today. This year our proceeds were divided between the Roseau Women of Today and our selected two charities:

  • The Roseau School, specifically to sponsor Safety Patrol Camp
  • The Roseau Library, to assist with costs related to the story hour

diva night out

Bringing out the Diva Within was a motivational presentation which encourages women to look into their lives and soul to find the courage to change what needs to be changed and strength to take the journey to make their  dreams reality.  Through music, speaking, and humor, this presentation was intended to help women find a balance between career, family and personal struggles that will lead them to begin a journey of self discovery and new passion to life.

Just under 200 woman turned out to celebrate and hear the encouraging words of keynote speakers: Lori Palm, April Steinsgard and Denise Gaber Ostby.  The night was filled with laughter, tears and peace as woman learned from the speakers and discovered how to take the words and turn them into change in their own lives.

Keynote Quote to Live By:
"We are so busy with all the good things we think we should do that we don't have time for the best things that we were meant to do."
