about us
Established in 1949, the Roseau Women of Today is a community organization dedicated to Service, Growth, and Fellowship.
We are a non-profit organization. The Roseau Women of Today is a community service, personal growth and leadership training organization. We offer opportunities for women 18 years and older (no woman is too old to join in on the fun!) to improve their lives and the lives of those around them through their work in their communities. Our members choose the projects they want to participate in, given their interest and time availability. Members can be as involved as they want to be. Most group events are take place in the evenings or on weekends. This organization is a great way to meet and make new friends. You will quickly find a common bond with the women in this group.
SERVICE
To contribute to our community by raising funds for worthy causes and by providing services or education to benefit community members. We are always looking for new projects and ways to improve our community. We host many functions including:
- a community Halloween party
- Super Santa Saturday
- Parade for the Roseau County Fair
- Donate backpacks for Back to School
- Miss Roseau Scholarship Pageant
- Family Bingo Night
- Coats for Kids campaign
GROWTH
To develop and to foster skills and talents related to becoming successful individuals, interacting well with other people and becoming capable leaders. Opportunities to develop skills and talents are numerous, ranging from committee work to taking on an officer position. Growth and personal enrichment can be had within our organization through:
- Financial Management
- Time Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Leadership
- And many more!
FELLOWSHIP
To develop friendships and to find personal support with the organization. At our meetings, we always have an opportunity to visit. Many of our activities at the meetings help members to get to know one another. Some of the activities we’ve enjoyed include a family potluck picnic in the summer, a year end party in May, a weekend getaway to Winnipeg to shop and attend a dinner theatre, progressive supper and a Death by Chocolate membership night. As well, we have holiday parties which help to recruit new members. Developing lasting friendships is a wonderful benefit of belonging to the Women of Today. Don’t think of us as strangers, just friends you haven’t met yet!
