We’re excited to start a new series introducing the amazing women who make up the Roseau Women of Today! We’ll be highlighting our members so you can get to know the faces behind our projects, events, and community work.
I was born and raised in Roseau! I attended college at the University of Minnesota Duluth and moved back to Roseau with my husband in 2015. I am currently an Associate Broker at USA Realty, where I love helping people with one of their biggest life decisions. In my free time, I like spending time with my family including my two kids, being outdoors, helping with and attending all of their activities, and staying involved in the community. I have been a member of the Women of Today since 2022.
My favorite events (I can't pick just one) are the Love to Read event, Santa Saturday and the Heroes & Heels events. While each is distinctly different, they all provide a fantastic opportunity to spend time as a family or one on one time with my kid(s). I have loved making memories at each of those with my son and can't wait to make more with both him and now my daughter.

Beckie has been a dedicated member of Roseau Women of Today for the past 14 years, serving in many roles including Membership VP, State Delegate, Vice President, and President. She and her husband, Adam—who grew up here in Roseau and works as a pilot with Marvin—have been married for 19 years and have two kids: Ashley (15) and Logan (11).
Seventeen years ago, Beckie and Adam made Roseau their home, and today Beckie owns and manages Horizon Estates, a local rental business. Her heart for community shines through in her involvement with countless projects and events, including Heroes and Heels, Harry Potter Night, Love to Read, Coats for Kids, Gift of Giving, Teacher Appreciation Week, the Personal Hygiene Closet, and teaching religious education, just to name a few.
Beckie loves giving her time and energy to make a positive impact in Roseau, and we are so thankful for all she brings to our chapter and community!
Kathy moved to the Roseau area in 2002 and works for Roseau County. She has two daughters, Cassie and Jessica, who both live in Minneapolis—Cassie works at Oasis for Youth, and Jessica is a lab tech at the University of Minnesota.
Kathy and her life partner, Les Thomas, love to spend time outdoors year-round—camping, fishing, traveling, and taking nature hikes. She also enjoys visiting family and spending time with her sweet 6-year-old fur baby, Scarlett.
One event especially close to Kathy’s heart is Santa Day. Her girls always looked forward to the activities and seeing Santa, and now she’s able to share that tradition with their grandchildren too. She’s also excited to be assisting with Diva Day this year!
We’re grateful for Kathy’s warmth, energy, and the many ways she helps make Women of Today a welcoming group since joining in December 2023!
I am from Roseau and have always enjoyed being part of the community. I've worked for Anderson Law Office/Minnesota Title for 25 years and love talking real estate. My husband Donnie (who works at Polaris) and I have 2 kiddos, Eric, who is a sophomore in college, and Claire, who is a sophomore at Roseau HS. We share our lives with our 2 dogs, 2 rabbits and FIVE cats!? Besides Women of Today, I stay busy helping with 4-H, Band boosters, PTO, Township board, Christian Ed board and more recently Warroad Summer Theatre! I love the arts, traveling, kayaking, crafting, reading and singing really loud to my kids.
I have been a member of Roseau Women of Today since 2012, where I have taken turns at Co-President and State Delegate for the local chapter. I enjoy all of our events, especially Super Santa Saturday. I love Christmas and it's just such a happy time for everyone. I loved bringing my kids to events when they were little, and then having them help as they got older.

I am a Roseau native, born and raised, graduating from Roseau High School in 1988. I attended college at the University of Minnesota-Crookston (a 2-year college then), graduating in 1990. Troy and I were married in September 1990 and have two boys. Ethan is married to Sydney and lives in San Diego, CA, and Riley lives in Bagley with his wife Brandi. As for my career, I am a legal assistant at Anderson Law Offices, P.A., and I began in this field after graduating from college in 1990. We also have a dog named Charlie, who I enjoy walking daily. I am also a part of the Roseau Gazebo Night Committee and the Secretary of the Salol First Lutheran Church. In my free time, I like to garden (flowers), read, bake, listen to music or podcasts, and travel.
As far as my Women of Today background, I joined the Roseau Chapter in 2012 and have held the local positions of Co-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and State Delegate and have been on or chaired many committees for community events. In the last couple of years, I have taken on a couple of larger roles and been a part of the State staff. Last year I was the District 2 Director, and this year, the Community Connections State Program Manager! I enjoy all of our events, but a couple of my favorites are the Father-Daughter Dance and Diva Days. The friendships made, skills learned, and connections made as a member of this organization are truly amazing!
